Independent lawmaker Engineer Rasheed on Saturday submitted memorandum to United Nations at its Srinagar office.

Spokesperson of AIP, Inam un Nabi, told Kashmir Life that Rasheed along with his party activists reached UN office at Sonwar and handed over memorandum to the officials.

“We have asked UN to implement its resolutions on Kashmir,” Inam said, “our demand is that Right to Self Determination be given to Kashmiris.”

Notably, Rasheed had planned a march towards UN office from Zero bridge on Thursday but police detained him at his Jawahar Nagar residence thus disallowing the march.

The AIP activists, Inam said, raised “Long Live Plebiscite and Wake Up UN, Wake Up” slogans.

“Immediately after submitting the memorandum, Engineer Rasheed was arrested and lodged at Ram Munshi Bagh Police Station,” Inam added.
