Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan Saturday convened high-level officers meetings to review the progress of NHAI Projects in Kashmir division and proposed Ring Road around Srinagar.
Regarding the NHAI Projects, various issues were discussed for completion of 4-lanning of Srinagar-Qazigund section of the National Highway, an official spokesperson said this evening.
The meeting was informed that the design length of the project is 66.60 km and existing length is 67.76 km.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned departments to settle the pending land acquisition cases on priority so that the projects are completed within the scheduled time frame.
Various land acquisition matters at Lasjan village, Srinagar and Pulwama were also discussed in detail.
It was informed in the meeting that the project cost of NHAI Project of Srinagar-Qazigund stretch is Rs 1101 crore and the work has been started in June 2011.
The scheduled date of completion was June 26, 2015 which was extended by December 31, 2106.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the officers of NHAI to work with zeal and synergy and removing the bottlenecks, if any, in this project.
He called upon the concerned to undertake the process of compensation of land to the owners through concerned Deputy Commissioners on priority for expeditious completion of project.
Regarding the construction of Ring Road around Srinagar, the meeting discussed the project in detail and it was informed that the proposed 4-lane ring road/bypass road to Srinagar city involving a total project cost amounting to Rs 2144 crore, of which an amount of Rs 1860 crore has been approved under special package.
The meeting was attended by the concerned officers of NHAI and RAMKY Infrastructures Ltd, besides various representatives of concerned departments.
