#Day29: ‘In North Kashmir, CRPF Men Damaged Fruits, Properties Worth Lakhs’

The residents of Langate, Karalgund, Supernaghama and Beighpora Saturday alleged that forces went on “berserk” in their localities as they allegedly damaged fruits and ransacked window panes of their houses as well.

According to KNS, locals in the areas alleged that “CRPF troopers entered in our orchards and damaged fruits worth lakhs and after that ransacked the windowpanes of their residential houses as well.”

They alleged that the troopers without any provocation damaged their properties. “The troopers involved in the barefaced act should be dealt with strictly,” the locals demanded.

They said that after the incident, the women in the localities staged protest against the “barbaric” however faced Lathis. “They were beaten by the troopers ruthlessly,” locals said.

The locals demanded immediate action against troopers and said that such acts should be stopped at earliest.

“Government should break their silence and should take action against the force personnel’s involved in damaging the properties of innocent people,” they demanded.

However, CRPF denied to have carried out any such attack in these localities. “We don’t have any deployment in Langate area. So the question of CRPF personnel doing such acts does not arise,” PRO CRPF Rajesh Yadav said.
