At last eight persons were injured in clashes that erupted in Lolab’s Lalpora area of Kupwara on Wednesday.
Another two youths were injured during clashes in Lassipora area of Sogam one whom, identified as 22-year-old Shabir Ahmad Lone, was shifted to district hospital Kupwara where from he was referred to Srinagar advanced treatment.
Lone’s spleen ruptured after being hit by a teargas shell.
Lalpora area of Lolab has witnessed intense clashes for many days now. Yesterday as well, the area was on boil as clashes between forces and youths continued throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the arrest of a youth from Fatehpora, in Ganderbal district allegedly involved in stone pelting, triggered protests on Wednesday.
