Intense protests erupted in Srinagar’s Barzulla area after Maghrib prayers on Wednesday.
Local sources said that people took out a protest rally as soon as the evening prayers ended.
“Forces vehicles chased away protesting youths,” a local said, “I was returning home when I saw two pairs if sleepers left behind by youth.”
Soon, the local said, “announcements were made on loud speakers that some youths have been arrested.”
People were asked to come out on roads “to get them released”, the locals added. However, the identity of the arrested youth could not be ascertained immediately.
“Some elders from the locality had gone to Police Station but I don’t know further details,” the local told Kashmir Life.
Meanwhile, a late night protest demonstration was also held in Chanapora area of Srinagar.
