District administration has directed Chief Medical Officer Srinagar to constitute a team for exhumation of the body of Tengpora youth, Shabir Ahmed Mir, who according to his family members was killed by a Dy SP rank cop in the lawns of his house in July.
In its application before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the father of deceased youth Shabir Ahmad, in an affidavit, has alleged that his son was killed by the Dy SP, who fired two shots from his revolver after barging into their house on July 10.
Official sources said that the exhumation of the body will be done to ascertain the cause of the death of the youth.
Sources added that the entire process of exhumation would be conducted in the presence of the close relatives of the deceased, who might want to be present.
Confirming the development, Chief Medical Officer Srinagar, Dr Bashir Ahmed Malik told CNS that some senior doctors and a team from Government Medical College will take part in the process.
“The date for exhumation of the body will be fixed within a day or two,” he said.
