To ascertain the cause of death of the Tengpora youth who, the family alleges, was shot dead by a Dy SP rank police cop from point blank range, the Srinagar District Magistrate has ordered the exhumation of the body to carry out the post-mortem.

The orders were issued on Tuesday evening, Rising Kashmir reported.

The Chief Medical Officer has been directed to constitute a team of experts for conducting the post-mortem.

The DM said the entire process of exhumation would be conducted in the presence of the close relatives of the deceased, who might want to be present.

However, Kashmir Life could not ascertain the new development in Tengpora killing case, independently.

In its application before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the father of deceased youth Shabir Ahmad, in an affidavit, has alleged that his son was killed by a Dy SP, who fired two shots from his revolver after barging into their house on July 10.

On Wednesday, people of the area took to streets holding intense pro-freedom protests.
