Police have arrested political bureau chief and spokesperson of J&K’s largest socio-politico-religio organization on Wednesday.
An office bearer of Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) J&K told Kashmir Life that Advocate Zahid Ali, who is JeI’s spokesperson, has been arrested by Police at Nowgam.
“He has been detained on Wednesday around 4 PM at Nowgam police station,” the JeI official, who is stationed at JeI’s Batamaloo headquarter, said.
Giving details, the official said that Zahid had left JeI’s Batamaloo headquarter at 3:30 pm on Tuesday and he was scheduled to go Shopian in South Kashmir.
“He has returned from Sedow Shopian but was arrested at Nowgam on Wednesday,” the official said.
Notably, Zahid Ali has been very active on social work front in current mass uprising. He visited almost every victim family in South Kashmir in last many days.
