At least fifteen people including Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Doda and Station House Police Officer Doda were injured after clashes erupted between protesters and government forces soon after the Friday prayers were over.
An eyewitness told Kashmir Life, “A large number of people raised slogans against the civilian killings in Kashmir at the hands of police and CRPF. And police used force to disperse the protesters resulting in clashes.”
In the clashes at least 15 persons including Dy. SP HQ Doda Abdul Qayoom Runyal, SHO Police Station Doda Udhay Shankar Wazir, police Sub Inspector, two other police personal and 10 civilians were injured.
The agitating people have alleged ‘rude’ behaviour of the police officers for the clashes.
Later the protesters held a march towards Jamia Masjid Doda where large number of people joined the protesters and condemned the police action and demanded immediate release of arrested youth.
The Seerat Committee Doda has called for three days shutdown over police action on peaceful protesters.
