The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the exhumation of the body of a youth killed in Tengpora allegedly by a police officer in cold blood.

NDTV reported that the apex court as ordered the exhumation, asking for the autopsy report of Shabir Ahmad Mir’s body in three weeks.

Earlier, SDM Srinagar had ordered for exhumation of Shabir’s body.

Mir’s family has alleged that he was shot dead by a Deputy SP rank cop at point blank range at the family’s home on July 10.

Police, on the other hand, have claimed that Mir was taking part in a protest rally following the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
