Militant outfit Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen has claimed the responsibility for Monday’s attack on army in Uri sector of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district during which it said “one army officer and several army men were injured”.

Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen operational spokesperson Burhan ud din while claiming the responsibility for the attack paid tributes to the five militants killed in the encounter.

Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen in a tele-statement to KNS said, “Militants of Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen carried out an attack on LoC in Uri Sector during which one army Colonel and three army men were killed.”

Confirming the killing of five militants during the encounter he said, “Mujahideen demonstrated showed utmost bravery and achieved martyrdom in the encounter.”

He further said, “a meeting of the office bearers of Hizbul-Mujahideen was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Supreme Commander Mir Saifullah Khalid during which he paid glowing tributes to the slain militants and vowed to carry forward the on-going struggle to its logical conclusion.”
