The united resistance leadership including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement on Tuesday asked people to come out on roads and start a 72-hour march towards the UN office from Wednesday morning.

“As the killer forces have escalated their killing spree, brutally murdering 7 more innocent civilians and injuring hundreds since yesterday,” a statement issued by Hurriyat Conference (m) said on behalf of the resistance leadership.

“Where ever the forces stop them from moving forward they (people) should sit on the road, hold placards and protest peacefully for 72-hour,” the statement said.

The leadership said that as the UN is duty bound to fulfil its promise to the people of the state, “the march is a reminder to the world body to stop being a mute spectator of the genocide of Kashmiris and fulfil the commitments made to them”.
