An undergraduate student has been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and sent to Jammu jail on Tuesday morning.
According to sources, a student namely Rehmatullah, son of Abdul Gani of Bhatta Dessa was booked under PSA by the District Magistrate Doda.
Sources said that couple of days ago an FIR was registered against him in police station Doda bearing number 173, under section 120, 124 A,154 RPC.
Eye witnesses said that soon after last Friday Namaz, Rehmatullah was dragged from main market to police station Doda and was mercilessly beaten by the police party headed by SHO P/S Doda Uhday Wazir.
Till this morning he was in unconscious state.
Two other students Shahid Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hussain Batt of Beoli and Tawheed Ahmed, son of Abdul Latief of Akramabad Doda are still in police custody and they too were beaten ruthlessly.
It is said that all the three youths were raising pro-freedom, pro-Kashmir and anti-India, anti-BJP, anti-PDP slogans during the procession after Friday prayers.
