Jammu and Kashmir Government has imposed night curfew in Kashmir region.

A Srinagar based newspaper quoting top un-named police official said that night curfew has been imposed in Kashmir.

The police official asked people of Srinagar “not to venture out during the night.”

“Shops shouldn’t not be opened during evening hours,” the senior police officer said adding that the night curfew will continue till further orders.

Meanwhile, reports coming from across Srinagar said that police and para-military forces have been deployed at all major entry and exit points.

A Correspondent working with a Srinagar based newspaper was stopped and allegedly abused by cops when she was on way home.

“We were stopped at five check points by forces,” a journalist said, “I was on way office from Jawahar Nagar but it seemed near to impossible just to cross Zero Bridge.”

In Jawahar Nagar, reports said, police enforced strict curfew around 9 PM. “Some vegetable vendors were yet selling their product when police appeared on the scene and chased them.”

Kashmir Life tried to contact top Government officials but to no avail.
