Protests erupted in North Kashmir’s Palhallan town on Wednesday afternoon.

Local sources said that as soon as Zuhr Namaz (mid-day prayers) ended, youths came out holding pro-freedom demonstrations.

The united resistance leadership has asked people to march towards United Nations office in Srinagar.

“Youths from adjacent villages marched towards Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway where they are fighting pitched battles with forces personnel who are deployed in huge numbers,” local sources informed.

Notably, Palhallan witnessed big pro-freedom demonstrations in last 39 days. People even didn’t sleep till late mid-night “chasing” forces to thwart arrest of youths.

“One police van has been damaged and it has turned upside down on the major highway connecting North to Centre and South Kashmir via Palhallan,” locals said.

The clashes were going on when the last reports came in.
