Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday asked people to remain steadfast and “not to get swayed” by the employment packages of governments in Srinagar and Delhi.
Addressing a mammoth pro-freedom rally in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district, Geelani while referring to the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “no solution under the ambit of Indian Constitution is acceptable to Kashmiris.”

The pro-freedom rally was scheduled in Eidgah Verinag, however, due to bad weather, the venue was changed to Shaheed Ami Chowk.
People came from different areas including Kapran, Shahabad, Nowgam, Dooru, Batagund, Zamalgam, Sadiwara, Mandi Pora, Changoo to attend the rally.
Geelani in his almost 9-minute long telephonic address said, “if India sincerely wants a permanent solution to Kashmir dispute, United Nations Security Council resolutions must be implemented.”
