#Day47: Omar Meets Rajnath

Former CM and leader of opposition in J&K State legislature, Omar Abdullah, met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday in Srinagar.

Rajnath is on a two-day visit to Kashmir, second time in a month.

The Union Home Minister is in valley to review the security situation in valley given the strict curfew in place for last over 46 days since mass protests erupted which were triggered by the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani on July 08, 2016.

Sources said that Omar and Rajnath discussed the prevailing situation in valley and ways how to restore normalcy.

While Singh is in town, one youth was shot dead today while dozens were injured when forces raided a scheduled pro-freedom rally venue in South Kashmir’s Pulwama.

Sources said that almost all unionist political parties met Singh while Congress is about to enter the hall where Omar is holding the meeting.
