Clashes erupted in several parts of Srinagar after government decided to lift curfew from Kashmir except three places.

Reports reaching here said that youths came out on roads in Nawpora area and started stone pelting amid pro-freedom protests.

Forces used to force to disperse them.

Meanwhile youths came out on roads in Batamaloo area when forces had to fire tear gas canisters to disperse them.

Similar reports from Old Srinagar’s Sekidafar and Kani Kadal areas.

Reports said that youths asked people to stay home in Khanyar, Babdemb and Fateh Kadal areas.

Local sources said that youths came out on roads in Sekidafar and Noorbagh areas following which forces came out on roads.

“Forces lobbed some tear gas shells,” sources said.

Sources said that announcements were made on Masjid loudspeakers asking people to protest calendar.

“Forces have entered the inner lanes,” a local from Sekidafar said, “but there has been no disturbance yet.”

However, in Lal Chowk and adjoining areas, there is brisk movement of private and government vehicles.
