“It is mayhem here,” a caller from South Kashmir’s Qazigund area said.

Correspondent reports said that local population had planned a pro-freedom rally in Panzath area of Qazigund on Tuesday.

People from many areas were on their way to the venue to listen to the pro-freedom speeches and resolve for the unity in the file and rank of the people.

Notably, hundreds of pro-freedom rallies were held in Kashmir in last 52 days but government has come down heavily on such gatherings now.

The action on Qazigund pro-freedom rally comes at a time when another pro-freedom rally venue was raided in Shopian district in the region. Clashes are going on in the area.

“Intense shelling is going on in the area,” the caller from Panzath said.

Correspondent reports had earlier informed KL Newsroom that forces have set up Nakas at several places on way to Panzath and people were being stopped to march towards the area but it didn’t stop people from making it to the venue.

“Forces, JKP and CRPF, have come inside the village and have resorted to intense shelling,” reports said, “they are announcing to abandon the idea of holding the pro-freedom rally.”

When this report was being filed, tear gas shelling was going on in the area as KL reporter, Shah Hilal, was fleeing for safety.
