Pakistan’s Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan has passed a resolution in which “Indian brutalities” in Kashmir have been condemned.

According to Radio Pakistan, the committee’s meeting was held under the chairmanship of Senator Professor Sajid Mir in Islamabad.

“The committee has called upon India to stop human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and urged international community to play its role in resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and wishes of Kashmiri people,” the radio report said.

Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir briefed the committee about stance of the government on Kashmir issue, it said.

“The minister said government is taking all steps to raise the Kashmir issue on all international fora,” the report added.
