A senior Hurriyat Conference leader and ex-Secretary of United APHC Dr G M Hubi was arrested by police party headed by SHO police station Chrar-e-Sharif on 24 August 2016 at 11:30 PM from his residence at Chrar-e-Sharief in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

He has been booked under PSA of which orders were passed by DC Budgam on 30/08/2016. He has been shifted to Kotbalwal central jail Jammu.

Meanwhile, police have booked other eight persons under the Public Safety Act (PSA) on Tuesday.

Four persons were booked under PSA in Hajin area of Bandipora.

They have been identified as: Nissar Ahmad Parray, s/o Abdul Rehman Parray, and Ishaq Ahmad Parray, s/o Abdul Majeed, both residents of Parray Mohalla Hajin.

“We were told by the police yesterday (on Monday) that Nissar has been booked under Public Safety Act and has been shifted to Kot Balwal jail in Jammu. He was arrested on July 15,” a relative of Nissar told Kashmir Reader.

Similarly, Mohammad Irfan of Paribal and Mohammad Hafiz of Vijpara village of Hajin were also booked under PSA by the police.

“They were arrested during clashes at Hajin on July 25,” his relatives said.

The police have also booked a father and son identified as Ghulam Nabi and his son Zahoor Ahmad from Chewa village of Bandipora district.

The police have already booked four youths under PSA during the on-going uprising in Bandipora district.

Four youths were booked under PSA in Ganderbal district.

The youths were identified as Tariq Ahmad Sofi, son of Mohd Maqbool Sofi of Saloora, Nasir Ahmad Wani, son of Gh Mohd Wani of Kachhan, Feroz Ahmad Ganai, son of Gh Mohd Ganai of Baroosa Lar, and Tariq Ahmad Malik, son of Gh Ahmad Malik of Kangan town.
