The house of ruling PDP’s sitting MP was set able by angry protestors on Wednesday afternoon.

Reports and local sources said that thousands of protesters marched towards Chawalgam area in the district where they attacked the residence of Nazir Ahmad Laway’s residence.

Laway, a businessman, was nominated to Rajya Sabha by PDP.

Reports said that locals had planned a pro-freedom rally in the area today but forces did not allow it.

“People were angry after forces raided the venue this morning and injured many civilians by firing pellets,” reports said.

Angry people thereafter marched towards Laway’s residence, however, no one was present in the house.

Flames came out of the house and a seven storey building situated next to house which also belongs to Laway.
