People are up in arms against forces excesses and have come out on roads in Srinagar’s Zampa Kadal area near SMHS Hospital Srinagar.
Kashmir Life received calls from the area that several youths, whose identity could not be immediately identified, were arrested by police and CRPF in raids.
“CRPF and Police personnel came and arrested at least 12 youths when protests were going at Zampa Kadal,” a local said.
He said, “the CRPF and police men came and attacked whatever came their way.”
“Everything, bikes, cars and other private property was damaged,” he said. “When locals tried to resist the forces action, forces fired pellets and tear gas canisters due to which many people were injured.”
Following the raids, the local said that people from Chana Mohalla, Bangladesh, Sheikh Mohalla, Aram Mohalla, Mughal Mohalla, Bagyas, Rampora, Veer in Chattabal area came out on roads.
“Elderly persons from the locality went to Police Station Karana Nagar but are yet to return,” he said.
