At least seventeen people have been injured after forces fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse protesters in Bandipora district in north Kashmir on Friday.

Reports reaching here said that twelve civilians were injured in clashes in the main town.

One of the injured persons has suffered a pellet injury in his eye. “He was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment,” a newspaper report said.

Meanwhile, reports reaching here said that at least five civilians were injured in clashes in Hajin town. The injured include two women.

Soon after Friday prayers, people including women assembled at main road Baharabad and raised pro-Burhan, Pro-Azadi slogans.

Similar clashes were reported from Sumbal area of Bandipora district.
