Following the killing of a youth, thousands of people attended a pro-freedom rally in North Kashmir’s Nadihal area.

Danish Manzoor, a 19-year-old College going student, was shot dead by army on Wednesday morning. Five others were injured in the firing one of whom is critical.

Reports said that thousands of people attended a rally in the native village of Nadihal today after it was locally announced a few days ago that a mass congregation will be held today.

“People from almost all areas reached Nadihal today and Friday prayers were held together,” a local said.

The locals said that at last sixty four workers of pro-India political parties publically resigned.

Meanwhile, reports coming from Trehgam area of Kupwara said that curfew was lifted from the area around 12:30 PM.

“After congregational Friday prayers ended, hundreds of people came out in main Chowk Trehgam and pro-freedom protests were held,’ a local from the area said. The protestors later dispersed off peacefully.
