Syed Taha Andrabi, Joint director Technical Education Kashmir, was arrested by police on Saturday morning from his home in Chanapora triggering protests by locals.

Local sources said that police raided the residence of Taha this morning around 10 AM.

“Taha’s residence was raided many a time sin last one month,” sources said, “but today he arrested.”

Taha lives in Umer Colony, Lal Nagar Chana Pora in South Srinagar.

Taha is brother of resistance leader Asiya Andrabi who heads Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM).

In past, Taha headed Government Women’s Polytechnic College Bemina and Kashmir Government Polytechnic Gogjibagh.

Meanwhile, locals hit roads against the arrest of Taha, seeking his immediate release.
