More than 60 persons have been injured in south Kashmir’s Tral in clashes with forces on Sunday.

Locals accused forces fired pellets and teargas shells inside the revered shrine of Shah-e- Hamadan (RA) in Tral town when hundreds of people fought throughout the day to claim the venue where they were supposed to organize a pro-freedom rally.

The police action has resulted in fainting of women inside the shrine.

The locals also accused forces of breaking window panes and beating inmates.

Meanwhile, a local from the town confirmed the shelling and said that the forces left the cordon of the shrine at around 5:05 pm. “We later performed asr prayers on the main road to protest the police brutality.”
