Intense clashes between civilians and forces broke out in Wadoora area of Baramulla district Sunday afternoon.
Reports reaching here said that CRPF personnel fired teargas shells, pellet fires and live bullets to disperse the civilians who were raising pro-Aazadi and pro-Pakistan slogans.
Witnesses said that some civilians have been injured in the CRPF action and one youth has been rushed to Sopore district hospital for treatment where he is being operated upon.
Police sources said that no one was hit by pellets or bullets.
“Forces chased protestors and one youth fell down and his head hit a stone which caused injury to him,” sources said.
Sources identified the injured youth as Asif Majeed Nagoo alias Musaib. He is resident of Sonwani, Wadoora and studies in class 11th. He is 16 years old.
Doctors at Sopore hospital referred him to Srinagar hospital. “He had no bullet or pellet injury,” doctors said in their initial report.
