Thousands of people are attending a pro-freedom rally in Kunan village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Local sources said that the rally commenced around 11 AM and will continue up to 2 PM.

They said that people from Trehgam, Kupwara, Poshpora and other adjacent areas have come and many more on way to Kunan.

“People from Kunan had formally extended invitation to adjacent villages a few days ago for today’s rally,” a local said.

One of the participants said that men, women and children are attending the rally. “Tents have been erected and people are staying inside while many people are sitting in open listening to pro-freedom speakers,” he said.

So far, the participants said, a local Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader addressed the gathering and more in the line.

Reports said that a big number of people were coming from Kupwara but they have been stopped by forces.

Meanwhile, the all party delegation is in Srinagar and has reached SKICC where they are expected to meet “cross section of people”.
