At a time when all mobile networks are snapped, one sided, the union government backed Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) refuses to entertain mobile bills.

No mobile phone network is operation fully since the mass uprising was triggered on July 09, 2016 after popular militant Burhan Wani was killed. However, government did not shut BSNL network. This triggered mass following of people towards it and the authorities in Srinagar said that it issued at least 20000 SIM cards in last two months.

However, some officials, apparently seem not caring about the situation prevailing in Kashmir.

“I am at Sanat Nagar office of BSNL to submit phone Bill,” a consumer of BSNL said, “but some clerk level official who is supposed to receive the payments is asking us to leave.”

The consumer said that it was the last date of the phone bill and his only BSNL SIM card might be suspended if he fails to submit the bill on Monday.

“We are at least 15 consumers here but the official is paying no heed rather he has closed the window,” the consumer said.

The incident comes the same day when locals from Kupwara district said that the BSNL mobile connections, too, have been disconnected today.
