Tajamul Islam, a Kashmiri scholar of English Literature, is new President of Maulana Azad National Urdu University Student Union.
He won the election on Thursday. He will be the 5th president of the University’s student body.
MANUU is a University with all India Jurisdiction.
Arshad Alam (Business Management), Mohammad Ammar Azam, (Education & Training) and Shahid Jamal (Business Management) were declared elected for the posts of Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer respectively.
Muhammad Ali K, Department of English is elected unopposed for the post of Joint Secretary. Mohammad Firoz was declared elected as executive member (Polytechnic).
Tajamul Islam, a PhD scholar of English Literature, hails from Arin village of Bandipora district.
He completed his masters in English Literature from Kashmir University before moving to Hyderabad.
He fought the election under the banner of Azad National students Association (ANSA). He sought vote against regionalism; “Vote for Reason not for Region”.
MANUU is a Central University established at National Level in 1998 by an act of Parliament to promote and develop the Urdu language.
