Kashmir continues remain shut on 62th consecutive day during the mass civil uprising on Thursday. However, to “maintain law and order” heavy deployment of CRPF and police personnel was made across Kashmir but in uptown Srinagar private and government vehicles were seen plying on the roads.
The unified resistance leadership running under Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani have extended shutdown up to September 16.
At Noorbagh Srinagar people painted walls and roads with pro-freedom slogans. They also held a peaceful sit-in and denounced the unabated civilian killings across Kashmir Valley.
Clashes between the CRPF, police men and protesters erupted in Panzan area of Chadoora tehsil in central Kashmir’s Budgam district after forces foiled a freedom rally.

The rally was proposed at Panzan, however, police and other forces erected barricades on ways leading to the venue and foiled it.
As people tried to clear the barricades, local sources said that forces resorted to tear gas shelling resulting in clashes.
Reports said that a huge pro-freedom rally was also held at Nasrullahpora villages of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday. Thousands of people from various areas of the district participated in this rally where pro-freedom and anti-India slogans were raised. Geelani addressed the rally via telephone.

Residents of Ajar village of Bandipora alleged that the forces barged into their homes and beat up the inmates without any provocation.
They said that forces personnel from the nearby camp barged into the houses at around 10 pm and thrashed the inmates ruthlessly.
“They damaged residential houses, broke windowpanes and damaged property worth lakhs and beat up the inmates. Two persons received severe injuries,” said a group of villagers, demanding the removal of CRPF camp.
A top district official said that ACR Bandipora visited the village and assured the residents that the matter would be sorted out soon.

After offering mid-day prayers in open, people staged a massive protest in Ajas Bandipora after police arrested a youth Mehrajuddin Ahmed, son of late Muhammad Kamal.
People offered Namaz-e-Zuhr on road in main Bandipora town after which special prayers were held.
Protest and clashes broke out in Qazigund after forces tried to foil a pro-freedom rally.
Large number of people hit to roads and pelted stones on the forces who in retaliation fired tear-smoke shells.
The clashes that continued for hours left at least 22 people wounded.

“Two people received pellets in their eyes and were shifted to District Hospital Islamabad,” the locals said and identified the duo as Muzaffar Ahmed Wani, son of Muhammad Yousuf of Wangund and Muhammad Rafiq Wani, son of Ali Muhammad Wani a resident of Keer Noorpora, Qazigund.
At least fifteen people were injured after forces attacked a pro-freedom rally in Kellar village of Shopian in south Kashmir, locals said.
Witnesses and reports said that forced fired pellets and burst teargas shells to foil the rally, leaving fifteen people injured.
Reports said that a pro-freedom rally was scheduled to be held in the area when forces intervened and according to locals used force to disperse the peaceful people. “The pellets and shells left over a dozen people injured,” they said.
Witnesses said that a massive pro-freedom rally was held at Jamnagar Shopian in which thousands of people participated.
The participants were addressed by different speakers while throughout the really people waved pro-freedom and anti-India banners and placards. The rally according to locals culminated peacefully.
At least 50 people were injured after protests and clashes broke out in Dadsara area of Tral town in Pulwama district.
A police party raided some houses and arrested three youths from the area.
In retaliation, large number of people hit to roads and pelted stones on the police who retaliated with pellet firing and tear-smoke shelling. At least 50 people suffered injuries out of which six were shifted to Srinagar.
Locals identified the arrested youth as Nazir Ahmed Rather, Babloo and Tariq Ahmed Hajam.
Block Medical Officer Tral, Dr Shakeel Ahmed said that they received 48 wounded in the hospital out of which 6 were referred to Srinagar hospitals.
At least 25 persons were injured after forces allegedly attacked a pro-freedom rally in Bathnoor village of Pulwama district on Thursday.
Witnesses said that seventeen persons were injured after forces tried to foil the rally in Bathnoor-Lassipora village.
