She was arrested in connection with FIR No. 34/2026 registered at Police Station Chatroo under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Police said that, given the gravity and sensitivity of the case, SSP Kishtwar had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter.

During the investigation, police said, evidence surfaced regarding the alleged sexual exploitation of the minor, her pregnancy and attempts to terminate it, besides the alleged involvement of multiple persons, including those associated with her medical treatment.

Five accused persons had already been arrested in the case, while the role of the nurse emerged during further investigation, leading to her arrest as the sixth accused, officials said.

The SIT is conducting a thorough, scientific and evidence-based investigation into the circumstances surrounding the minor’s death and the role of each person allegedly connected with the case, police said.

Further arrests will be made wherever warranted, while strict legal action will be taken in accordance with law, police added.
