Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti Thursday greeted people on the occasion of annual Urs of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA), popularly known as Shah-e-Hamadan (RA).
In her message, Ms Mehbooba highlighted the contribution of revered Shah-e-Hamadan (RA) in preaching the message of peace and brotherhood enshrined in the teachings of Islam, an official spokesperson said this evening.
She also highlighted the role of Shah-e-Hamadan (RA) in introducing the skills of famed handicraft amongst the people, for which Kashmir is famous all over the world.
“While many saints have graced the valley of Kashmir but no one is identified with Kashmir the way Sahah-e-Hamadan (RA) is remembered for having changed the course of Kashmir’s history,” she said.
The Chief Minister prayed for peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, which she said, “is undergoing lot of pain and suffering”.
The Chief Minister asked the Divisional Administration Kashmir to ensure adequate arrangements for the devotees visiting the shrine to join special prayers during the annual Urs.
