General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Chief of Army Staff, accompanied by Lt Gen D S Hooda, Northern Army Commander and Lt Gen S K Dua, GOC 15 Corps, met Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here on Friday.
During their hour long meeting, the Governor and the Army Chief discussed the external security situation and issues relating to effective internal security management, an official spokesperson said this evening.
The Governor and Army Chief also discussed the varied opportunities which need to be provided to the youth for assuring stable and bright future for them.
BSNL Chief calls on Governor
H K Verma, Chief General Manager Telecom (CGMT), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, J&K Circle, called on Vohra at the Raj Bhavan today.
Verma briefed the Governor about the functioning of the BSNL in the State and the measures being taken for improving the landline and mobile phone services and internet connectivity in the State.
The Governor stressed the urgency for BSNL to utilize the latest technologies to bring about continuous improvement in the telecommunication services being provided to the people, particularly in the remote and far-flung areas of the State.
