SRINAGAR

Hurriyat Conference (m) on Saturday said that its incarcerated chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed grief and deep anguish over the fresh killings of three more civilians Abdul Qayoom Wangnoo of Aali Kadal Srinagar, Sajad Ahmad Sheikh of Ganavpora Shopian and Yawar Ahmad of Botengo Islamabad by the “Indian forces”.

“Calling the cold bloodied murder of the three slain civilians as   manifestations of naked and brute aggression by a totalitarian regime that was at war against unarmed inhabitants whom it has kept captive and suppressed for their territory, Mirwaiz said that the silence of the international community has emboldened the Indian state further which is extremely painful,” a statement issued by the Hurriyat Conference said this evening.

While paying glowing tributes to the young “martyrs”, Mirwaiz said, “the nation owes it to these brave men and to their supreme sacrifice of life that the great cause of freedom and justice for Kashmir be carried on by all towards till the attainment of these lofty ideals.”

Stressing that the people of Kashmir had been striving for their Right to Self Determination since 1931 in general and since 1989 in particular by offering all kinds of sacrifices and enduring all kinds of hardships, the APHC-m Chairperson expressed hope that “Insha Allah these sacrifices will bear fruit and Kashmiris will see the dawn of freedom provided we stay united, firm in our resolve and patient.”

Meanwhile a statement issued by Mirwaiz Manzil said, “on the directions of its incarcerated Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the volunteers and activists of Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil have started collecting essential commodities for ensuring the families affected by the on-going situation have all necessary items on the religious festival of Eid-ul-Azha.”

A spokesperson of Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil said their office bearers after collecting essential items from the donors and contributors were handing them over to the respective Masjid Committees that have in turn been appealed to handover these items to the needy and the deserving.

According to Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil statement, one of its committee is also distributing the essential items among the injured admitted at Srinagar’s two main hospitals – Medical Institute at Soura and SMHS hospital – and their attendants.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson appealed the well-off people who have been contributing to help the poor and needy by assisting Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil by way of contributing monetarily as well as by other means to come forward and do more for this great cause.

Appealing the people in rural and far off areas to contribute rice, vegetables and other eatables, the spokesman asked them to connect to Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil over phone numbers 2420161, 2429813 and 9419017890.
