Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Yasir, on Saturday lashed out at the state government saying that the “local Government should hang it’s head in shame”.
A statement issued by Ummat-e-Islami said that the members of the party discussed the reported curbs on the day of Eid-ul-Azha and the prevailing situation in the valley.
Qazi Yasir is under continuous detention from the past 62 days, the statement said.
“He expressed anguish over the killing of Yawar Dar from Islamabad and Sayar Ahmed from Shopian. The force have exceeded all the limits of barbarism and brutality,” the statement quoted Qazi as having said.
“After the unprovoked killing of Yawar, the troopers fired at his funeral and in the process even his dead body received dozens of pellets. The Indian state wants to create an atmosphere of fear and havoc. They do not want us to pursue education. Burning Schools and occupying them is an indication of the same. Indian Nation needs to understand that power and might has never crushed the people’s uprising,” he said.
