Shopkeepers brought down shutters in Lal Chowk, Pampore and Bandipora following “call for no-deal today”.
Shopkeepers opened their shops in and around Lal Chowk following “deal in shutdown” by united resistance leadership.
“However, some people told shopkeepers to shut shops as forces killed two youths today in South Kashmir,” eye witnesses said.
Amid brisk movement of private vehicles this evening after 6 PM, Regal Chowk witnessed “traffic jam” for a few minutes but it eased as shops did not open.
Similar reports poured in from Bandipora town as clashes between forces and youths forcing the shopkeepers to down their shutters within minutes of re-opening of markets.
The forces fired teargas shells triggering massive clashes.
Similar reports poured in from Pampore. They said that youths came out in protest against the civilian killings and shopkeepers closed down the shops.
No markets opened in Islamabad district this evening following the killings.
In Humhama, intense clashes erupted between forces and protestors.
