At least 18 civilians and SDPO Bijbehara Saturday suffered injuries during violence in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district.
Reports said that people organised a peaceful rally at Mahind in Islamabad which was allegedly attacked by the forces including CRPF and police using smoke shells and pellets to quell them.
With the use of force to disperse them, eyewitnesses said, the people clashed with the forces shouting pro-freedom slogans.
In these clashes, as many as 18 civilians and SDPO Bijbehara were injured.
The police man sustained injuries on face as he was hit by a stone.
Similarly in SK Colony, Islamabad, people clashed with the forces after they allegedly barged into their houses and started allegedly manhandling people and damaging property.
To protest the move of forces, eyewitnesses said, people came out of their houses and clashed with the forces leading to clashes between them.
During the clashes, forces used fired pellets in which seven civilian wounded.
