After the “Fidayeen” attack at an Army Camp at Uri Sunday morning, Governor N N Vohra called Lt Gen D S Hooda, Northern Army Commander and Lt Gen Satish Dua, GOC XV Corps, and conveyed his heartfelt sympathy on the loss of lives of brave soldiers.
“He saluted the martyrs and wished early recovery to those injured,” an official spokesperson said this evening.
The Governor and Chief Minister would be meeting the heads of Security Forces and Intelligence agencies at the Raj Bhavan this evening to review the security situation.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has expressed grief and sorrow over the killing of soldiers in a deadly militant attack on Army Base Camp at Uri in early morning today.
Condemning the attack which left 17 soldiers killed and several injured, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the elements responsible for attack would be dealt with iron hands.
Expressing heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved families, the Deputy Chief Minister prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He also wished early recovery of those injured in the same attack.
