Many local youths were injured in clashes in Aragam area of Bandipora district on Thursday after an encounter ended in the area. One youth, who was injured by pellets has been referred to SMHS in Srinagar.
The youth, Tawseef Ahmad Ganai, 16, was shifted to Sub-district hospital Bandipora from where from he was referred to SMHS Srinagar. Doctors treating him said, “He has suffered multiple pellet injuries.”
Clashes erupted in the village after government forces allegedly resorted to teargas shelling and pellet firing to disperse protesters demanding the body of a suspected militant killed during an encounter in the area.
Clashes were going on when reports last came in.
