Expressing her gratitude to Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif, for his bold and realistic speech on Kashmir at the UNGA session, Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Thursday regarded Pakistan’s efforts to internationalize the ongoing Kashmiri movement as a success.

As per a statement, DeM chairperson has said, “It was an obligation for the people and separatists to sustain the ongoing movement until India is forced to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination.”

“The speech by Mian Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday is a big step towards the success of our ongoing movement. Despite, India’s false propaganda and difficulties within the country, Pakistan showed to the world that how much they are concerned about Kashmiris,” reads the statement.

While detailed more on the Pakistan’s PM speech, she has said that out of 18 minute speech, he dedicated almost nine minutes to Kashmir, which seems to her ‘extraordinary’. “It is a clear message to the oppressed Kashmiris that no matter what, a nuclear armed state will always back their just and pious struggle. It is also a clear message for us that there is someone who will always plead our case wherever needed,” she said.

She has also appealed to Kashmiris and separatist leadership to remain steadfast. “We must resolve that this movement shouldn’t meet the same fate as what happened in 2008 and 2010. The leadership as well as the people must remain steadfast as it is important not only for us but for the dignity of Pakistan as well, who is pleading our cause at every forum,” she said.

She has further urged people to not to pay heed to the propaganda by India based media. “They are spreading lies by attributing false statement to different countries regarding Pakistan. Nepal, already has issued a statement in this regard clarifying that it has never said anything which is being said and written in Indian media. So people should pay no heed to such jingoism shown on Indian channels,” she added.

Commenting about the recent happenings in Kashmir including Uri attack and the subsequent Indian response over it, DeM chief has said that it is a state policy of India to ‘fabricate’ events whenever there is an international event round the corner. “We saw how Sikhs were massacred in Chattisingpora on former US president, Bill Clinton’s, visit to India. Similarly, innocent Kashmiris were massacred in Pathribal afterwards. This is Indian state policy to fake events, whenever an international event is round the corner, in an effort to sabotage any efforts aimed at highlighting the just cause of Kashmiris,” she said.

“Just a few months ago, Indian military and its defense ministry, every now and then, came up with statements that there is no infiltration along LoC and the militancy was at the lowest. How is it possible that within a gap of few weeks that so many militants have evolved and there is an encounter almost every day? This is propaganda to hoodwink the international community and to sabotage Pakistan’s efforts regarding Kashmir at the UN and to defame our resistance movement,” she added.
