Four persons died while eleven others were injured in two separate road accidents in Leh and Ganderbal, police said on Friday evening.
In Leh, a tipper bearing registration number JK10-7838 driven by Vishal Kumar resident of Dehradun met with an accident at Taru Thang, resulting in on spot death of four persons and injuries to ten persons.
The injured were shifted to SNM hospital Leh for treatment.
In Ganderbal, an unknown car hit and injured a pedestrian Abdul Satar Najar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Najar, resident of Aarigoripora Kangan at Kupora, Kangan.
The injured person was shifted to Sub-District Hospital Kangan for treatment, where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for further treatment.
Two Drug Peddlers Arrested in Baramulla
J&K police arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
Police established a naka at Baba Teng Pattan highway.
During naka checking two persons identified as Tariq Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi, resident of Kander Mohalla Pattan and Mohammad Rajab Teli, son of Wali Mohammad Teli, resident of Baba Teng Pattan were intercepted.
On checking, ten kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from them.
Police have registered a case FIR number 259/2016 under section 8/15 NDPS and investigation was taken up.
Residential House Damaged In Fire
Fire broke out in the residential house of Abdul Ahad Ganie, son of Abdul Aziz Ganie, resident of Rakh Narpora, resulting in damage to the house.
Fire was brought under control by fire tenders. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.
