Government of India has put airports of four states including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab Rajasthan and Gujarat on high alert. A total of 22 airports are working in these states which have been put on high alert.

“There is no specific threat. But as a precaution, we have put the airports in all the bordering states and in Delhi on high alert,” said OP Singh, chief of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) that guards airports across India.

Recently, he reviewed the security preparedness at all airports under CISF protection.

The alert has been sounded at a time when Union Home Minster, Rajnath Singh, is in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan to chair a meeting with home minsters of the four states which share their boundaries with Pakistan.

The meeting will be focused on how to manage the Indo-Pak border.

Singh has said that by 2018, India will seal her all borders with Pakistan.
