One youth from Poonch was killed in Southern district of Shopian during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday in a road accident.
Police sources said that a truck, JK22 – 3819, hit two other vehicles around 2 AM in which four persons sustained injuries.
Sources said that the truck has been seized and its driver arrested.
“The accident happened near Hurpora Police Station in Shopian,” sources said. “The truck hit a TATA Mobile, JK02AR – 5521 and an auto-Load carrier, JK18A – 1107”.
They said that those who were aboard the TATA mobile and auto were injured and were rushed to district hospital Shopian.
“One youth, Mohammad Ashiq succumbed to his injuries,” sources said. He was 22 years old.
His family was contacted by police and his father Ab Rashid, resident of Khaneter Poonch has reached the hospital to take custody of the body.
