Kashmir Life staffer Muhammad Raafi on Monday had a narrow escape when he came under a sudden stone pelting attack on Foreshore Road of Srinagar. Luckily, despite suffering a nasty attack, Raafi escaped unhurt.
The KL Correspondent was driving to office when the attack happened.
“It was quite peaceful on Foreshore Road before some boys suddenly appeared from a lane nearby Duck Park and hurled stones at my car,” Raafi said. “The stones smashed windshield of the car, but luckily, it didn’t hit me.”
Monday’s street assault on KL staffer—or, for that matter on any Kashmiri journalist is in the continuation of the street assault battled by media.
In the current civil uprising, media men repeatedly became the targets of the street ire, both from youngsters and men in uniform.
The united resistance leadership time and again issued statements appealing dissenters to detest from manhandling media.
But even then, the newsmen are continuously finding themselves at receiving end.
