Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Syed Abid on Monday inaugurated Snow-Skiing course at famous tourist resort Pahalgam.
In a bid to promote snow tourism in Pahalgam, the tourism department has organised a snow skiing course at the resort.
The event was formally inaugurated by Dr Abid in presence of Director of Tourism Mehmood Shah.
DC Islamabad while talking to Kashmir Life said, that Tourism Department is all geared up to promote tourism and organize various activities to showcase the cultural ethos and heritage of Kashmir.
He added that he will personally speak to the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to contribute for Pahalgam so that cultural programmes and other new courses will be inaugurated in Pahalgam, as it is one of the famous tourist spots of the valley.
“We will also promote Pahalgam as winter destination and organize number of activities here so that the tourists are attracted to visit Pahalgam and enjoy the hospitality here,” he said.
Meanwhile, the locals of Pahalgam urged the people living outside the state to visit Pahalgam and enjoy the hospitality.
“We are making all efforts to increase the inflow of tourists which has suffered a setback during last few months,” They said.
