Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu in exercise of power under section 144 Cr. P.C. has ordered that no procession shall be taken out by any individual or groups of individuals and no provocative slogans shall be raised by anyone in the areas on the following routes. Bajaj tower Shalamar to Library Chowk Kachi Chawani, on flyover from Police Control room to district Institute of Education & Training behind New Secretariat, on fly over from Subash Chowk (Mahesh Pura Chowk) to District Institute of Education & training, Rotary behind New Secretariat to New Secretariat, and Shaheedi Chowk to Deputy Commissioner Office.
However according to spokesman, this order shall not apply to marriage and funeral processions and procession for public awareness organized by any government department.
This order shall come into force for the period of two months with effect from January 05, 2014 or till rescinded whichever is earlier.
