SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad convened a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements being made for the forthcoming Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) in the district.

DC stressed upon the officers to provide all requisite facilities to the devotees like drinking water, sanitation, medicare, transport, uninterrupted power and water supply and other necessary arrangements in this regard, the spokesman said.

The DC directed the PDD and PHE to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply at all the major congregation sites, particularly at Tallab Wali Masjid and Jamia Masjid Rajouri. He instructed for provision of standby transformers, generators and mobile water tankers as a backup at these places. The Police authorities were directed to deploy adequate police personnel enroute the procession. The Traffic authorities were  directed to prepare well thought-out traffic management and parking plans in order to ensure hassle-free to-and-fro movement of vehicles during the Milad procession. The procession will start from Old Bus Stand passing through Tallab wali Masjid, City Chowk  and culminate at Jamia Masjid.

The Health Department was asked to station a critical care ambulance at Old Bus Stand on the Eid day.

He also directed the EO MC Rajouri to ensure cleanliness around the major mosques among other major places of worship throughout the period of Milad celebrations and ensure proper street lightings. He also directed the AD fire and emergency services to station a fire tender at the Jamia Masjid Eidgah on 10 November.

DC directed AD FCS&CA, AD Food Safety and AD Legal Metrology to conduct market checking to ensure fair prices of basic commodities besides providing the ration to the public.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd Ashraf, Additional Superintendent of Police Liaqat Choudhary, Chief Medical Officer, Sanjay Puri, Assistant Direct FCS & CA, Mukhtar Ahmed lone, Executive Engineers of PDD, PHE, PWD, Tehsildar Rajouri ,Sheraz Chouhan besides other concerned district officers and prominent members of Ahle Sunnat wal jammat, Tareekh-e Ghulam e Mustafa, Imam/Khateeb of Jamia Masjid and President Beopar Mandal Rajouri.
