SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan inaugurated capacity building training programme for Panchayati Raj Institutions of Ramban to carry out the baseline survey of households and monitor the progress periodically

DPO, Sunil Buthyal, BDOs and other concerned officers attended the programme while  Mushtaq Ahmed and   Bahar Ahmed Wani were the resource persons, the spokesman said in a statement.

The training programme was organised by the Rural Development Department and Panchyati Raj, Ramban on Gram Panchayats Development Plan (GDPD) and Mission Anthodia Survey (MAS), 2019 in which 140 PRI’s participated.

DDC enjoined upon the trainees to take a keen interest in this orientation programme so that the knowledge gained here could be utilized optimally for effective growth and development of rural areas.

DDC said that the aim of the training programme is to ensure the accountability framework under various programmes for the development of rural areas. “It is envisaged as Gram Panchayats initiative with as focal points of convergence efforts” he added.

Pertinently, an annual survey in Gram Panchayats across the district is an important aspect of mission Antyodaya framework. It is carried out coterminous with the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) of Ministry of Panchayat Raj and its purpose is to lend support to the process of participatory planning for Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).
